Charles Wilson, known locally as Chic, was found dead inside a Tontine Park property on Saturday, March 25.
Emergency services were called to a fire in the flat at around 7am.
After the blaze was extinguished, Chic’s body was discovered inside a bedroom.
Following a post-mortem examination police revealed they were treating the death as murder.
A major probe was launched with top detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team leading the case.
And last Friday Police Scotland confirmed to the Lennox that an arrest had been made in connection with Chic’s death.
Chic, 40, was last seen alive around 10.45am last Friday by a friend at the flat.
His body was discovered the following morning.
Tributes poured in for the local man with one neighbour saying: “Chic was harmless. No one deserves this to happen, but especially not Chic.”
Another said: “This is heartbreaking , sending love to Chic and his family.”
Whilst on social media, a friend said: “What a horrible shock.
“I’m absolutely devastated by this, Chic was a good guy.
“Thinking of his family and friends at such a tough time.”
Renton councillor Jim Bollan added: “People are devastated in the area.
“I spoke to a few residents and they are shocked that something like this could happen.
“It’s a terrible situation and my heart goes out to Chic’s family and friends at such a difficult time.”
