Man appears at Old Bailey after fatal attack on board bus in Brixton

A man has appeared at the Old Bailey accused of attempted murder after a fatal attack on a 40-year-old man on board a Brixton bus.

The victim Donovan Martin was assaulted on board the route 59 bus in Brixton Road at around 10.20am on Thursday, November 21.

He was rushed to hospital following but died from his injuries just after 14:30hrs on Wednesday, November 25.

Nathan Grant, 39, of Lambeth Walk, Brixton, was originally charged with attempted murder, as well as theft over Mr Martin’s death.

But the charges will be amended to murder at a later date, a Met Police spokesperson said.

He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 23 and was remanded in custody, appearing at the Old Bailey on Friday.
