A man and a woman turned their fury on the police during a disturbance in Wishaw.
Carol Duncan shoved one officer while George Cockburn brandished a table leg and challenged officers to fight.
Duncan, 50, of Lomond Drive, and Cockburn, 48, of Northmuir Drive, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
They admitted threatening or abusive behaviour in Greenfield Drive, Wishaw, on August 11, 2020.
Duncan also pleaded guilty to a charge of police assault while Cockburn admitted confronting officers outside his home.
Allegations that the pair were armed with knives and a bat were dropped.
Alice Carey, prosecuting, said a man and a woman were in their home in Greenfield Drive about 4pm when they heard loud banging.
She told the court: “The accused were shouting, swearing and kicking the front door.
“The victims ushered them away, but a few minutes later Cockburn returned in possession of a wooden table leg.
“It appeared both accused were heavily under the influence and were unsteady on their feet.”
The police were called and officers found Duncan and Cockburn in Northmuir Drive.
The fiscal added: “Cockburn challenged them to fight while brandishing the same table leg he’d had earlier while Duncan assaulted a police officer by pushing him.
“Additional police officers were requested to attend. Cockburn was asked to drop the weapon and eventually he did.
“He and Duncan were then arrested.”
Sheriff Liam Murphy deferred sentence on both accused until next month for background reports. They had their bail continued.
