Man and woman found dead at Scots home as cops launch probe into 'unexplained' deaths

A man and a woman have been found dead at a home in Dumfries and Galloway.

The alarm was raised shortly before 4.30pm on Wednesday, January 25 when officers were called to a property on Merse Way in the village of Kippford, which is located three miles from the town of Dalbeattie.

It was there that cops discovered the two individuals, who were pronounced dead at the scene. The deaths are being treated as 'unexplained' and an investigation is now underway to piece together exactly what happened.

The names and ages of the two deceased are not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.20pm on Wednesday, 25 January, police were called to an address in Merse Way, Kippford, near Dalbeattie.

“A man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

“The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
