Man and woman dead and 10 injured after multi-vehicle crash

Two people have died, and another 10 have been injured following a horror smash in the Cotswolds, police have confirmed.

Tragically, a man and a woman have now lost their lives, after a four- vehicle collision yesterday, on the B4425 at Riversmeet North near Aldsworth.

Cops were immediately called to the scene shortly after 12.45 yesterday, Friday 3 December 2022.

They attended to the accident between the Coln St Aldwyns and Eastington turnings.

Gloucestershire Constabulary have revealed that the four vehicles involved in the collision were a grey Mini Cooper, black Audi A3, grey Polestar 2 and a black Seat Leon.

A man in his 50s from Cirencester was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

Meanwhile a woman in her 30s, from London was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment to serious injuries but sadly died overnight, Gloucestershire Constabulary has confirmed.

Her next of kin has been informed.

Ten other people were also taken to hospital for treatment, where a number of them will continue to receive treatment for serious injuries, police have said.

Others have been discharged after receiving treatment.

An 18-year-old woman from Chipping Norton who was arrested in connection with the incident.

However, she has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Gloucestershire Constabulary have no urged anyone with information regarding the accident to come forward.

They have also confirmed that they are continuing to investigate the horror incident.

A statement from the Gloucestershire Constabulary reads: "Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and would like to hear from anyone who hasn’t already been spoken to and who have may have witnessed the collision or the vehicles involved prior to the incident.

"Anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage which they believe would be relevant is also asked to make contact."
