A man and woman accused of a dramatic abduction in Adelaide's north over the weekend will remain in custody.

Mawson Lakes woman Alice Weekes, 26, and Fitzroy man Leonard Wilkins. 36, appeared via video-link in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today charged with false imprisonment, firearms, weapon and drug trafficking charges.

Neither made an application for bail.

Police allege the pair were responsible for abducting a 31-year-old man who was found with a gunshot wound to his back at Port Gawler on Saturday night, alongside a burning Toyota sedan.

A witness took the injured man to the Lyell McEwin hospital

Officers allege that earlier that day, the man had been visiting a woman at Mawson Lakes, when three armed men assaulted him and shot him in the back.

They allege he was tied up, placed in his own car and driven to Port Gawler by the men, who then released him and set the car on fire.

Police are still searching for two suspects who fled in an unknown car.
