A man and a woman have been bailed after a dad-of-five was fatally mauled by an 'out of control' dog. Jonathan Hogg, 37, tragically died after he was attacked by the animal in Leigh, Wigan, on Thursday night (May 18).
The dog, that police said was 'dangerously out of control' was later shot dead by armed police. Jonathan was rushed to hospital with serious injuries from the scene on Westleigh Lane but died the following day.
Officers investigating initially arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog causing injury resulting in death.

Police later searched two houses and seized a further 15 dogs, believed to be of the same breed of the dog that attacked Jonathan, and £37,500 believed to be the result of criminal proceeds. A 22-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
In an update, the force has confirmed that both the man and the woman arrested have been bailed with conditions as the investigation continues.
Police remained at the scene of the dog attack in Leigh throughout Friday (May 19). Jonathan, a mechanic from Hindley in Wigan, was known by friends and family as 'Oggy' and was the father of three boys aged 16, 11, and four-months-old and two girls aged three and one.
His heartbroken older brother Ian Hogg told the Manchester Evening News: "He was my little brother and I loved him to bits. He was one in a million - he'd do anything for anybody. He was bubbly and loud - the loudest person you ever met. His kids are in bits. I don't know what we're going to do.
"I was in the hospital from 11pm to 5am. It was just horrific, I can't get it out of my head, but the doctors and nurses did everything they could. They were amazing."
And in a tribute from his family, they said: “Jonathan was a well-loved, sensitive, and kind person who will never know how loved and appreciated he was by everyone who knew him," they said.
“We have been inundated with messages of support and we ask for privacy at this time to come to terms with our loss.”
