A man has been airlifted to hospital following a crash between a car and a motorbike on a road in South Ayrshire.
The smash happened shortly before 12pm today when the alarm was raised of a two vehicle crash on Tarbolton Road in the village of Dundonald.
A photo taken at the site, which was shared on social media by Ayrshire Police Division, shows at least two police vehicles parked where the accident took place. A road closure sign is erected beside a number of traffic cones.
Mercy crews, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, raced to the scene and a 35-year-old man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow to receive treatment.
The extent of his injuries are not yet known. The B730 remains locked down five hours after the collision as officers carry out an investigation into the event. It is unclear when it is expected to reopen.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.50am on Saturday, 27 August, 2022, officers were called to a report of a two vehicle crash involving a car and a motorbike on Tarbolton Road in Dundonald.
