A man aged in his 30s was stabbed during a 2am disturbance near a south Manchester pub, Greater Manchester Police has revealed.
He hasn't been named but was rushed to hospital from the scene, where police said he remained today, Saturday.
The force said the man suffered 'non-life-threatening injuries that are consistent with a bladed article being used', but no further details have been revealed. No exact age for him has been released either.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, a stretch of the A6 Stockport Road, outside the Levenshulme pub in Levenshulme, was closed in the early hours as police and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service attended.
Photos from the scene showed police tape across the road - and a smashed window at the pub. Evidence markers could also be seen on the pavement outside the pub as forensic investigators worked on Saturday morning.
GMP said a man aged in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of affray. He, too, hasn't been named but the force confirmed he remained in custody today for questioning.
The A6 Stockport Road was closed from Alma Road to Crayfield Road as a result. Police said there was 'no wider disruption to the surrounding area' and all cordons have now been lifted.
In a statement, GMP said: "At around 2am this morning (Saturday 3 November) GMP were called to reports of a disturbance at Stockport Road, Levenshulme.
"NWAS also attended the scene and a male in his 30s was taken to hospital and has suffered from non-life-threatening injuries that are consistent with a bladed article being used.
"A male has been arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody for questioning. A scene is currently in place at the location with no wider disruption to the surrounding area.
"Enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances."
The road reopened at 10.25am on Saturday.
No further details have been released.
