A man suffered serious injuries after a reported 'disturbance' on a street in south Manchester, Greater Manchester Police have revealed.
Emergency services were called to Palatine Road, Northenden, at 1am on Sunday, with the man, who is aged in his 20s, subsequently taken to hospital.
The nature of his injuries, or detail around the disturbance, haven't been disclosed by the force, but a spokesman said he remained in a 'serious but stable' condition in hospital. No arrests have been made and detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Photographs posted on social media show an area of the road and pavement taped off around Bombay Flavours restaurant and The Grapes lounge bar. Scenes of crime officers were also reportedly at the location on Sunday morning.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "On Sunday 19 January, at around 1am, Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Palatine Road, Manchester.
"Emergency services attended and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital. He remains in a serious but stable condition. No arrests have been made at this time.
"Officers investigating this incident have followed up on a number of lines of enquiry and are now in a position to appeal to members of the public for information. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV, mobile, or dash cam footage from the time of the incident.

No further details have been revealed.
