A man accused of killing a chef who worked for Gordon Ramsay has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Omar Wilson, 31, allegedly punched Mussie Imnetu repeatedly in the head during an altercation near the final day of this year’s Notting Hill Carnival.
At the time of the attack, Sweden-born Mr Imnetu was visiting the UK on business from Dubai where he lives and works as a chef.
He has worked under celebrity chef Ramsay, as well as Marcus Wareing and Alain Ducasse.
Mr Imnetu was taken to hospital for treatment to a bleeding on the brain after the incident outside the Dr Power restaurant in Queensway at around 11.20pm on August 26 . He died four days later in hospital.
Wilson, of Napier Road, Leytonstone, appeared on a videolink from HMP Belmarsh on Monday for a hearing at the Old Bailey.
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder.
Judge Philip Katz KC remanded Wilson back into custody until his trial, which is set for February 3 next year.
