A 60-year-old man has been arrested and charged with taking steps to manufacture explosives after a police raid on a home in Adelaide's north.
Members of South Australia's Serious and Organised Crime Branch raided the Desyllas Drive home in Direk about 9am on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation.
Police said they seized instructions, precursor chemicals and equipment capable of being used to manufacture explosives.
Neighbours on the street were evacuated for hours due to safety concerns as police searched through the property.
Members of the STAR Bomb Response Unit seized the explosive substances and were safely disposing of them on Wednesday evening.
Police said they would continue to conduct further searches of the house.
The Direk man has been charged with possessing instructions and taking steps to manufacture explosives, and has been refused bail.
He is due to face Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Thursday.
