A second person has died on Ayrshire's roads over the weekend.
A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a car in Dalry yesterday afternoon.
The 52-year-old's red BMW K 1300 S motorbike and Peugeot 2008 car were involved in the collision on the A760 between Largs and Kilbirnie at around 3.45pm yesterday.
No one else was injured, police confirmed this morning.
The road was closed for 10 hours to allow crash scene investigators to carry out work and the route was fully reopened just before 1am today.
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Sergeant Adnan Alam said: “I am appealing for anyone with information regarding this incident who has not already contacted police to get in touch.
“In particular I would ask any motorists with dash-cam footage to check it to see if they may have information that could assist in our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2278 of Sunday, 6 November, 2022.
The fatality occurred on the same weekend as a 64-year-old passenger died in a single car smash on the A70 near Dumfries House in the early hours of the morning.
