An investigation has been launched after a man died following an accident involving a forklift last week. The incident happened at a premises on Buckley Road, Rochdale, last Thursday (June 22).
Police say they were called to reports of the accident around 5.30pm that evening. The man, a 49-year-old, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
He died a short time later, police added. A joint investigation between GMP Rochdale's CID and the Health and Safety Executive has since been launched to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

A GMP spokesperson said: "At around 5.30pm on Thursday 22 June 2023, police received a report of an accident involving a 49-year-old man and a forklift truck at a premises on Buckley Lane, Rochdale. He sustained serious injuries and despite the best efforts of emergency services, he sadly died at a short time later in hospital.
"A joint investigation between GMP’s Rochdale CID and the Health and Safety Executive has been launched to make enquiries into the circumstances that led to the man’s death."
The Health and Safety Executive has been approached for a statement.
