Man, 45, rushed to hospital after disturbance in Cambuslang

A man was rushed to hospital last night following a disturbance on Cambuslang Main Street.

A 45-year-old is believed to have been the victim of a violent attack outside the old Savoy bingo hall.

Police taped off the scene with officers seen standing guard earlier this morning.

Lanarkshire Live understands police were alerted following reports of a disturbance outside the town's Wetherspoons pub.

Online reports suggest a violent assault took place.

Another man added: "Two police vans there last night."

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed today: “We were called to a report of a disturbance on Main Street, Cambuslang around 7.30pm on Sunday, April 30.

“Emergency services attended and a 45-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres by ambulance.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
