A man was charged on Monday with the murder of his wife in south London, the Metropolitan Police have said.
Hai Van Nguyen, 41, is accused of killing his partner Hien Thi Vu, 45, at their home in New Cross Gate, Lewisham.
The London Ambulance Service alerted Scotland Yard to a “seriously injured” woman in Hatfield Close, which has apartment blocks and semi-detached homes, at 6:41am on Sunday.
Despite the best efforts of medics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after, at 6:52, Mr Nguyen self-presented at Lewisham Police Station in connection to the incident.
He was arrested and charged with murder, the Met confirmed on Monday.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place in due course, the force added.
Mr Nguyen was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday afternoon.
The woman’s next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
