Man, 38, hospitalised after serious assault in south of Scotland

A MAN, 38, has been admitted to hospital after an assault that happened in Castle Douglas in the south of Scotland.

Police Scotland is appealing for information following a serious assault in Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway.

On January 2, officers were called to a property on Wallace Court around 11.30pm. A man, 38, was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment of serious injuries. Three men aged 29, 39, 49 have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing. Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information, who has not already spoken to police, to get in touch. “I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.” Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 3418 of January 2, 2025.
