Man, 30s, in serious condition after being struck by a car in Dublin as gardai appeal for witnesses

A man in his 30s remains in serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Dublin on Wednesday evening.

According to gardai, the collision happened at 8:15 pm on the Old Navan Road, in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15.

The man was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown to be treated and was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

It is understood that his injuries are serious, while the driver of the vehicle involved was uninjured.

Gardaí in Blanchardstown are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Whether you were in the area between 7.50 pm and 8.20 pm or have camera footage (including dash cam) you are asked to contact Gardaí.

Anyone can ring Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station in relation to the incident.

The Old Navan Road was closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene, but has since reopened.

In a statement this morning, officers confirmed: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that occurred on the Old Navan Road, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 yesterday evening, Wednesday 8th June 2022 at approximately 8.15pm.

“A male pedestrian (aged in his 30s) was struck by a car. He was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as serious. The driver of the car was uninjured.

“The Old Navan Road was closed yesterday evening while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conducted a technical examination of the scene. The road has since reopened.”
