Man, 29, charged with murder of neighbour stabbed to death in north London

Pamela Munro, 45, died from a single knife wound in Enfield - (Metropolitan Police)

A young man has been charged with the murder of a woman neighbour after she was found stabbed to death in a north London flat.

Pamela Munro, 45, suffered a single knife wound and died at the scene at around 7pm on Saturday.

An investigation was launched after Metropolitan Police officers were called to the fifth-floor property in Ayley Croft, Enfield, which they attended with paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance.

Abdirazak Omar, 29, who lives in the same block, was arrested on Monday.

He will appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday accused of killing Ms Munro and possession of a knife.

Ms Munro’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers, a force spokeswoman said.

“Officers believe that the arrested man and victim were known to each other, but this is not being treated as a domestic incident,” she added.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, leading the murder probe, said: “Investigating officers have worked relentlessly across the weekend to investigate the circumstances around Pamela’s death.

“We continue to support her family who are understandably devastated.

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, who oversees policing for Enfield, said: “Our thoughts are with Pamela’s family and local residents who will have been significantly impacted following the news of her death.

“I am grateful to local officers and officers from the Specialist Crime Command who have worked tirelessly since Saturday to investigate the circumstances surrounding Pamela's death as well as support the local community.

“Neighbourhood officers will remain at Ayley Croft throughout the coming days to support the community and help investigators continue enquiries.

“Please contact officers if you have any information.”
