A man has died after he was crushed to death by a falling tree.
The 26-year-old was pronounced dead a short time after cops arrived at the scene on Darley Street in Sale, Greater Manchester, yesterday.
Police and paramedics were called at around 3:30pm on Thursday to reports of two men injured by a falling tree.
Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save the young man, while the second was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives are now appealing for doorbell footage and other CCTV in a bid to understand the full circumstances.

Detective Inspector Jennifer Reeve of the Trafford division said; “This is a devastating incident and our thoughts are with the family and friends affected at this difficult time, especially of the man who sadly lost his life.
"I would also like to thank the public who tried to help at the time immediately after the incident happened, their actions were brave and appreciated by all the emergency services.
“We are continuing with our enquiries at this time to understand how the tree fell and are appealing for anyone in the local area to get in touch if they feel they have any information that may help.”

The family are being supported by specially-trained officers as Greater Manchester Police launched their investigation.
Concerned residents described the scenes which unfolded as they arrived home from work.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, one resident said: "I didn't know what had gone on, I just heard a really loud noise earlier this afternoon - and not long after there were loads of police here closing off the road."

Another went on: "I haven't been back long from work. When I got back about two hours ago, I saw everywhere had been blocked off. I had no idea what has gone on, but it looks really serious and makes you worried when it is right outside your house."
Another resident added: "I heard someone had passed away tonight. It is just so awful and sad to think this can happen so close to home, and my thoughts are with whoever's family is involved in all this."
