A man has been hopsitalised with serious injuries after being seriously assaulted in Mayo this morning on the Neale Road in Ballinrobe.
Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident with occurred at around 12:15 pm on January 31, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The man was rushed to hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. The scene was preserved by officers so that a technical examination could take place.

This evening, they are appealing to witnesses and anyone with camera footage - or car dashcam clips - to contact them.
A statement released this evening read: “Gardaí are investigating an assault on a man in his 20s that occurred at approximately 12:15 pm at a premises on the Neale Road in Ballinrobe, County Mayo.
“The injured male was taken to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.
“The scene was preserved and a technical examination was conducted.
“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Neale Road area of Ballinrobe between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí”.
