Man, 20, dies after his £160,000 Lamborghini flips on motorway in terrifying crash

A man killed when his supercar flipped on a motorway in an accident which also seriously injured a woman has been named by police.

Shaan Hussain, 20, from Bradford, West Yorks, died when the £160,000 Lamborghini Urus crashed on the M62 motorway between junctions 22 and 23.

The incident happened at around 4.20am on December 21.

A 22-year-old woman also in the car suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for further treatment.

It is currently unknown who was driving at the time of the incident.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "The Major Collision Enquiry Team is continuing to investigate the collision and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened, or anyone who has footage to assist their investigation.

"Police are investigating a road traffic collision which took place on the M62 which has resulted in the death of one person and the serious injury of another.

"The collision took place on the westbound carriageway, between junctions 22 and 23, at around 4.20am and involved one vehicle."

Several people paid tribute to the 20-year-old in the wake of the tragedy, reported Yorkshire Live.

A, who said he was Mr Hussain's neighbour, added: "Young, lovely, polite kid.

“Known him and his two brothers as they live next to me. Always respectful and a genuine smile.”

Another person said: "My deepest sympathy to his family, so sad, god bless you young man."

Several questioned where the car came from, with one adding: “What a senseless loss of life and its his family left behind and the young lady who was a passenger who will continue to suffer for it.

“I've noticed in recent years lots of posts/articles about supercars being paraded about in the Bradford area.

“Often the cars are hired so they need to do an investigation into why this is happening and local MPs maybe look at the hire companies and change the rules for hire or even their business licences/insurances so this is not allowed.”

Another, who drove by the scene, added: “I passed this terrible accident just after it happened and before the emergency services had got there.

“I was on my way back from Manchester airport. Let me tell you, it was horrific.

“My thoughts are with the families at this very sad time.”
