An east London man has been charged with the rape of a woman in Clapham.
Bryan Makedi, 20, of Plymouth Road, Canning Town, was charged on Wednesday, November, 23, with two counts of rape, intentional strangulation and sexual assault by touching.
The charges come after an allegation that a 21-year-old woman was raped on Sunday, November 20, between 2am and 5am at an address on Clapham High Street.
He appeared in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Inner London Crown Court on Thursday, December 22.
Detectives from the Met’s Central South Command Sapphire Unit are leading the investigation.
The victim is being supported by specialist officers.
