A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a major police incident in Govanhill which saw one taken to hospital.
Emergency services were called to Calder Street in Govanhill around 12.05pm yesterday following reports of a disturbance and the road was locked down. Police, paramedics, fire crews and an armed response unit were deployed to the scene.
A man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) and the road was reopened at around 5pm.
Police have confirmed a 20-year-old man is due to appear in court today over the disturbance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended at a property on Calder Street in Glasgow following a report of a disturbance around 12.05pm on Sunday, 10 April, 2022.
“A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 11 April, 2022.”
