Mama June hits back at sister who voiced her concern about the star's decision making

Mama June Shannon 's sister Joanne has voiced concerns over her health decisions.

In a new teaser clip for the upcoming episode of her reality show, Mama June: Family Crisis, the sisters were seen out to eat when June ordered some sugar to go with her grits.

However, when Joanne told her, "You do not need sugar," June looked offended.

The reality star, who famously lost 300lb (21.4 stone) in 2017 and dropped from a size 18 to a size four after undergoing bariatric surgery, snapped back: "It's for my grits! I'm a grown woman, I can make my own decision."

Joanne didn't seem too impressed with her defiance, as she told her: "I'm a little concerned about your decisions."

This comes after Mama June gained 100lb (7.1 stone) back after her impressive weight loss.

However, June recently said she wouldn't be using a certain jab in her weight loss transformation after hearing about "so many bad side effects".

The TLC star said she had no interest in taking Ozempic as she was trying "to stay clean" after overcoming crippling drug addiction.

While some have linked the injection with weight loss, Ozempic is actually used to manage type II diabetes and mimics hormones in the brain which are responsible for appetite and feelings of fullness. It is not a licensed option for weight management.

However, June said: "I don't want to try Ozempic because, honestly, I've heard about so many bad side effects.

"It is using a drug that isn't really prescribed to do that. They're using a diabetic drug to take care of weight loss," she said in a new interview.

Meanwhile, June also recently revealed plans to move closer to her daughter Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell as she undergoes treatment for a rare form of cancer.

Anna was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma back in January and started chemotherapy to try and battle the illness in March.

The 28-year-old has been supported by her family throughout her heartbreaking illness, with Mama June currently splitting her time between her home in Alabama and Anna's home in Georgia.

Mama June said she stays in an Airbnb with her husband Justin Stroud when they visit Anna, but all of that is set to change.

"We are definitely leaving Alabama. I'm in the process of leaving Alabama now and I'm in the final steps of my legal issues, so we'll definitely be going back to Georgia," she revealed.

Mama June and Anna were previously said to have a fraught relationship after falling out when Anna accused her mother of "never apologising" for her past mistakes.

However, they seem to be trying to mend their relationship, with Anna even attending her mother's wedding in January.
