Mama June shared an emotional moment with her daughter Honey Boo Boo as the pair came together to try and fix their tattered relationship.
The 43-year-old matriarch hugged her teen daughter for the "first time" in about "five or six years" as they took part in a therapy session.
In the latest episode of Mama June: Family Crisis, the pair were joined by Mama June's other children Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird and Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon on a family retreat with therapist Dr Ish.
The family gathered in the kitchen as the therapist kicked off a session in which they could speak about their emotions and try to develop "closeness" with each other.
At one point, Mama June held hands with 17-year-old Honey Boo Boo, real name Alana Thompson.
Speaking to her youngest child, Mama June said: "I'm glad that we was able to hang out today. And I hope that we can do it really soon. And I love you."
Alana said she also loved her mother before addressing Dr Ish and saying: "It was better because she didn't say it over text message."
The therapist then asked Honey Boo Boo: "How much would it have meant to you if you could have held her hand on the first day of school and she said, 'I love you. Go on in there and kick some a** now'.'
After hearing the question, the teen broke down in tears.
"Everybody at school is like, 'My mom, my mom, my mom.'' And I always have to say, 'my sister.' I don't want to have to say that," she explained.
Mama June was then encouraged by Dr Ish to go and comfort her daughter and brought her into a tight embrace.
In a confessional, Honey Boo Boo admitted: "This is the first time Mama's actually really gave me a hug in probably about, I'm not gonna lie, probably about five or six years.
"And it feels good to get an actual loving hug from your Mama. Like, it really did feel nice."
