Mama June and Honey Boo Boo's fans were left feeling rather emotional when the family matriarch and her estranged daughter embraced for the first time in six years.
The 43-year-old is the star of Mama June: Family Crisis, with the reality star currently trying to reconcile with her family after she and former boyfriend Geno Doak were arrested on drug possession charges in 2019.
Mama June is mum to 17-year-old Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, 23, and Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon, 26.
The series, Mama June: Family Crisis, sees the family matriarch and her daughters trying to get back on track after being estranged, with psychiatrist Dr Ish Majorlending a helping hand.
In the latest episode, which aired on June 30, Mama June's family were sent on a weekend family retreat to partake in therapy sessions with the skilled therapist.
But things became even more emotional than usual when Mama June and her youngest daughter broke down in tears before having a hug.
Prior to being sent on the retreat, the family were instructed to let their emotions out while they stood in the kitchen.
Holding hands at one point, Mama June and Alana shared a sweet moment that saw June confess: "I'm glad that we was able to hang out today. And I hope that we can do it really soon. And I love you."
"I love you too," Alana replied emotionally. But that wasn't the most moving part of the episode.
Dr. Ish then spoke to Alana about not holding her mum's hand on her first day of school, which then led to her admitting that she wanted Mama June to be there for prom and graduation, too.
Alana began to cry, which sparked Dr. Ish to tell June to comfort her daughter before they cuddled and hugged for a moment.
In a confessional scene that played after the emotional embrace, Alana – who shot to fame on TLC's Toddlers and Tiaras – revealed that she hadn't hugged her mum for a number of years.
Alana said that it was the first time in "five or six years" that her Mama June hugged her, with her adding: "And it feels good to get an actual loving hug from your Mama. Like, it really did feel nice. I'm not gonna lie."
With the clip posted online, fans were quick to share their thoughts, with many saying how "emotional" it was to watch.
"I'm crying. This was such a touching moment," penned one, while others spoke of how "emotional" they were, with some in tears.
"This episode made me cry. Praying for peace and clarity for this family. Reminds me of my own," added a second viewer.
A third then added: "Omg this episode is very emotional! I really hope that these therapy sessions really help them!!"
While a fourth penned: "I'm bawling watching this. Because I've been there. I want to hug them all. Especially Alana."
New episodes of Mama June: Family Crisis air Fridays at 9pm on WeTV.
