A malnourished dog whose last meal is thought to have been a pot of noodles has been seized by police from a flat in Oldham.
Officers were on patrol in the area where they came across the dog, whose ribs were showing and was clearly living in a "hazardous" environment with broken glass scattered across the floor.
Two police officers gained entry to the flat where they discovered there was no dog food, and that a pot of noodles appeared to have been the last food she was given.

It also became apparent that the dog hadn't been taken out of the house to go to the toilet. The dog has since been seized under the animal welfare act and taken to the vets to get checked out.
Oldham police posted: "Royton Neighbourhood Officers PC Peddar and PC Ramzan while making enquires on an unrelated matter came across a dog which was clearly malnourished with her ribs showing and living in a hazardous environment with broken glass on the floor.
"Police powers to protect animals were used to gain entry, there was no dog food in the flat and a pot of noodles appeared to be her last meal, it was also apparent that the dog had not been taken out much (use your imagination!)
"She was very happy to see officers and enjoyed a walk and some food while waiting for a trip to the vets to get checked out. Seized under the animal welfare act."
Hundreds of people have commented on the post from GMP Royton and Shaw, praising the work of GMP for rescuing the dog.
