One person has died and another has been rushed to hospital after a gunman opened gunfire this evening at a shopping centre in Sweden.
Armed police raced to the Emporia shopping centre in Malmo at about 5pm local time and say they arrested a teenage boy at the scene.
At about 6.30pm local time, a police spokesperson said that the shooting was no longer "ongoing", but said two people had been shot.
One is a man who sadly died of his injuries and another is a woman who remains in hospital. The man's family have been notified, police have said.
One person at the scene told sydsvenskan.se: "Several crying people say they heard gunfire."
Another witness told the same media outlet: "We were in the Apple store to fix a mobile phone, they shot the same floor almost right outside.
"We heard about five shots.
"Then people started running. The people who work in the store shouted that we were going out. People cried. It was scary."
A third said: "I was inside shopping at ICA when people started running and there was chaos at the cold counters. When we ran out, we saw that there was chaos outside, he says.
"It was a pregnant woman who was about to faint. They had seen several shots fired. They had seen how a woman was shot."
Witnesses have reportedly told tv.se they heard about 20 gunshots before running out of the mall.
A reporter at the scene added the shooter appeared to fire at random.
A police spokesperson said: "The person arrested is a teenage boy. A man and a woman were injured in the shooting.
"The man has died from his injuries and relatives have been notified.
"The woman is being treated in hospital. The police are investigating the case as a murder."
