Liberty quarterback Malik Willis, considered by many experts to be the top at his position in this year’s draft class, has met with the New York Giants.
The Giants, of course, hold the fifth and seventh overall selections in the upcoming NFL draft. But what’s really interesting is which other teams are beginning to poke around him.
Liberty QB Malik Willis is scheduled to visit next week with, amongst others, the Atlanta Falcons (No. 8) and Carolina Panthers (No. 6), per source.
Willis already has met with the Steelers, Saints, Giants, Titans and others.

The interest in Willis (should the Giants have none themselves, which is widely believed to be the case) makes New York’s picks more valuable. There could be teams drafting in the middle of the first round (Pittsburgh, New Orleans) that could be looking to trade up to undercut the Panthers and Falcons and take Willis.
Giants general manager Joe Schoen has said that he is ‘open for business’ and a trade of one of those two picks could bring them multiple top-50 picks this year and a No. 1 for 2023 — something many feel is a goal for them as insurance should they be in the market for a quarterback themselves next year.
The prospect of Willis being taken in the top six is growing legs and that means there will be one more stud offensive lineman, defensive back or pass rusher for the Giants to select from at No. 5 or 7.
