Malik Tillman to Rangers transfer details emerge with Bayern Munich kid set for Ibrox

Details of Malik Tillman's proposed move to Rangers have emerged with reports claiming it will be a loan deal with an option to buy.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been very active in the transfer market of late and he is ready to raid the Bundesliga for a second time following Rabbi Matondo's arrival from Schalke. Tillman featured seven times in all competitions for the Bayern top team last season, netting in a domestic cup win, but is keen to play regular first-team football.

Kicker reports that a deal has been agreed on a season-long loan with an option for the Light Blues to make the transfer permanent, but it will include a buy-back clause for the German giants should he impress during his stint in Glasgow. His arrival would make it five summer signings to date with John Souttar, Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence and Matondo already in the door so far. The same report states the USA international trained with Bayern on Wednesday morning but didn't return for an afternoon session to avoid any injuries ahead of completing a move to the Scottish Premiership.

It's set to be a big season at Rangers as Van Bronckhorst and Co look to win back the league crown they lost to Celtic last term and also reach the Champions League group stages.

They enter the third qualifying round of the competition - meaning they have to safely negotiate two rounds to earn a spot at Europe's top table.

The first hurdle will become clear on Monday when they discover their opponents as preparations continue with three more friendlies against Blackpool, West Ham and Tottenham ahead of the Premiership opener at Livingston on July 30.
