Malik Tillman savours Fir Park wonder goal as Rangers see off Motherwell

MALIK TILLMAN is determined to kick-on from his moment of magic at Fir Park after inspiring Rangers to victory over Motherwell.

The visitors bounced back from their 7-1 loss to Liverpool in midweek with a crucial Premiership win that keeps them within touching distance of Old Firm rivals Celtic at the top of the table.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side were lethargic throughout a low-key first half in Lanarkshire but burst into life when Tillman took matters into his own hands just after the break.

A stunning run from the halfway line ended with a clinical finish as the midfielder beat a handful of claret and amber shirts and slid the ball beyond keeper Liam Kelly.

It was the first time that Tillman has scored since his strike against St Johnstone at Ibrox and the American was pleased to play his part in a much-needed victory.

"I think it was a pretty nice one," Tillman said when asked about his goal. "Obviously it is nice to help the team get the win. The team always comes first.

"The last few weeks have been tough. We didn’t win in the Champions League.

"But I think it is an extreme boost for me. I keep looking forward and hopefully we can win the next few games as well."
