Malik Tillman has offered a major clue at what would seal a permanent move to Rangers this summer - and it's already been rubber stamped by Bayern Munich icon Jurgen Klinsmann.
The 20-year-old has become a key figure at Ibrox under Michael Beale and has showcased his best form on loan from the Bundesliga heavyweights that could see the Ibrox side trigger their £5million option for a permanent deal if the Germans decides to sell him this summer. It would be a major outlay for the Scottish Premiership side but the highly-rated US international is now delivering on his early promised.
The playmaker has now opened up on his next move, confessing his next destination isn't his focus - and long as he can ramp up his game time to kick on his career. He stated: "I just want to play as much as possible. To me it’s relatively unimportant where that is. I feel comfortable here, in fact very comfortable.
"I bring my performances which I think Rangers are really happy with. But I could also imagine the same with the people at Bayern. We'll see – the outcome’s open."
It's a demand that has already been issued back in Germany by Bayern icon and former USA boss Klinsmann - before he was allowed to leave on loan for Rangers. Tillman has made just 10 appearances for the Bavarian outfit - and the former World Cup winner demanded more.
Asked about his lack of minutes in Munich, frustrated Klinsmann said after the move: “You just wish that every extremely talented player like Tillman gets the chance to prove himself in the club environment. Tillman’s move to Rangers is a big step.
"Not only does he get playing time straight away, but he also plays in a very strong league. Especially physically. Scotland is a battleground. And then he also has the opportunity to play in the European competitions.”
If Tillman is to be convinced to make his loan move permanent, game time appears to be the key factor. And there is little doubt that Klinsmann agrees with the midfielder's stance.
