Malik Tillman becomes Rangers Michael Jordan copycat as USA ace's header labelled 'trampoline' goal

Malik Tillman's winning goal for Rangers in their Champions League third round qualifier has earned an 'incredible' tag after sending them to the brink of group stage qualification.

The Light Blues were 2-0 down from a poor first leg in Belgium against Union-Saint Gilloise but goals from James Tavernier and Antonio Colak put them on level pegging at Ibrox. Union goalkeeper Anthony Moris had a good night for his team up until the point where American international Tillman rose several feet off the ground, channelling the inner basketball star Michael Jordan within him to score a fantastic header and make it 3-2 on aggregate.

It sealed a 3-0 win on the night and Champions League dates with destiny against PSV later this month in play-off action, with former Rangers right-back Richard Foster in disbelief at the attacking playmaker's goal after it was described as 'a basketball dunk' on BBC Sportsound coverage by host Richard Gordon. He said: "The occasion seemed a bit too much for some of the Union players.

"For how well they played last week, Rangers didn't allow them to get started in this game. Rangers players thrived, none more so taking his goal very and winning the match, than Malik Tillman.

"The height he achieves to head that ball in the net, the goalkeeper is shocked. He thinks he's getting but Tillman is above him and heads it into the net. An incredible goal. Rangers were worthy of their 3-0 win.

"The goalkeeper is thinking that it's eight-foot in the air as nobody is daft enough to come and head this. Then all of a sudden, Tillman is up there with his trampoline."
