Malik Tillman a Rangers transfer 'target' as Bayern Munich and USA youngster 'open' to Ibrox switch

Rangers are reportedly lining up a move for Bayern Munich and USA international youngster Malik Tillman.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst wants to sign the Nuremberg-born 20-year-old who has played four times for the German giants, according to the Daily Mail. Tillman has represented the American men’s senior national team, who he qualifies through his father, on two occasions.

Rangers are closing in on a deal for Schalke youngster Rabbi Matondo and could be set to land their next target from the Bundesliga with Tillman who is said to be “open” to the prospect of a move to the Scottish Premiership. It’s said the Ibrox side are lining up a permanent move for Tillman who made his debut who made his Bayern debut in the German Cup against Bremer SV last year. He also came off the bench in a Champions League tie against Barcelona but is looking for regular first team football.

If a deal is completed for Tillman then he would become the fourth new face at Ibrox this summer following Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence and John Souttar, who signed a pre-contract agreement to join from Hearts last January, with Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo both heading in the opposite direction with Ibrox exits.

Reports in France have also linked Rangers with Stade Rennais striker Matthis Abline and Angers midfielder Angelo Fulgini, although he is said to be close to joining Germany Bundesliga side Mainz.
