Leeds’ famous butchers Malcolm Michaels stripped out of their clothing in a stunt to cheer up their customers while times are tough.
Boss Malcolm Leary, 54, and his co-owner’s son Nathan Thorpe, 32, appeared to be naked behind the counter with nothing but their aprons on and a pair of straw hats. Customers found it hilarious as they glimpsed the sight of them in Crossgates Shopping Centre on Sunday (June 4) from 2pm.
Fortunately, they were each wearing rolled up jogging bottoms, so shoppers were saved from catching an eyeful. The stunt was part of a competition they put together on Facebook for their 31,000 followers.

Malcolm admits he was feeling a little nippy beneath the air conditioning unit above his shop floor. He said: “It was very cold standing for two hours under the air conditioning but we were loving it and our customers were loving it.
"It looked like we were naked behind the counter with just our aprons on when we were making up burgers and sausages. We like to spread a bit of cheer now that times are tough.
"We were getting a lot of love, a lot of cheers. Where else do you see stuff like that? We have so much fun at Malcolm Michaels.
“Nathan was loving it. It doesn’t take much for him to get his kit off. He has a dad-bod and I have a grandad-bod.”
They appeared on Facebook in their get-up to announce the winner of the competition Jade Brown, who won a six-pack of meat, a Malcolm Michaels apron and an invite to Rate My Takeaway star Danny Malin's wedding.
