A Malaysian student booked a flight to Madrid after sharing beers with a group of Celtic fans on a train to London.
Austin met Hoops fan Mark Strachan and his friends on the Avanti West Coast service as they headed to Stansted Airport ahead of the Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday night. The Bristol University student got chatting with the Glasgow pals on Monday - and after a number of refreshments, Austin was soon booked on the flight with the lads.
The brilliant story was shared by Mark on Twitter and he has since been keeping followers updated on their adventures. The following day they got on the Ryanair flight before arriving in the Spanish capital and heading for more beers.
The group then headed for a tour of Real Madrid's stadium, the Bernabéu, before speaking to reporters. One of the fans with Austin told the BBC Scotland cameras: “We got on the train in Glasgow and bumped into this man Austin.
"We had a few beers and got chatting away - he’s over from Malaysia studying at Bristol University - and after a few more beers we decided to book Austin a plane to Madrid."
Austin added: "I had five or six beers and I was just like, never mind, I’m going to be here anyway."
Mark has shared pictures of Austin with his boarding pass, walking through London, with a Celtic flag, having a few beers in Madrid and then at the stadium.
His initial Tweet has been liked nearly 7,000 times and some other Hoops supporters in Madrid have even shared their pictures with Austin in the comments.
Celtic take on Real Madrid in their final Champions League group match at 5.45pm tonight. It's estimated between 7,000-10,000 Hoops supporters arrived in the Spanish capital ahead of the match.
