Make Winter a Whole Lot More Compelling With These Unconventional Ways to Keep Your Neck Warm

When you are all bundled up, especially when there's an arctic blast, it can be hard to show how devoted you are to fashion. Sure, you may show off your sartorial personality with a bold coat or a funky hat, but many stylish coats and toppers aren't warm enough to handle temps in the teens or lower. You can put a little spring in your step this winter, however, by employing unconventional scarves.

What do we mean by unconventional? Simply put we're referring to neck-warming devices that aren't just long, thick scarves you tie under your chin. So what exactly does that leave? Plenty. We're talking faux-sweater creations, deceptive dickies, solitary collars, perfect ponchos, comfy kimonos, cool snoods and even elegant gaiters.

The supplier list is also impressive featuring both designer and fast-fashion must-haves. Proenza Schouler's tubular take takes thing further up the neckline than any normal scarf dares to dream. Fool everyone into thinking your coat has a fluffy collar with Diesel's two-tone snood. Ganni's colorful knitted neck warmer is guaranteed to make quite a statement even tucked into your preferred outerwear. Then there's TOTEME's shearling number that also gives the illusion that your coat is a lot cooler than it really is.

On the fast front, Zara has a standout selection. The zippered neckline scarf looks like you skipped a scarf and opted for a sweater up there instead. It's definitely a street style move since showgoers love tying sweaters around unexpected places. The khaki color of Mango's "crop" turtleneck is giving us all the seasonal feels, while COS' gray pure cashmere collar will literally go with anything you already own.
