Legends of Dundee’s music scene are coming together for Ukraine at the end of the month.
The Dundee Music History Group have organised a major gig at REWIND Seagate.
The five-hour concert is the climax of the opening of the Dundee Music Walk of Fame.
The Overgate centre gifted the use of a space at their North entrance, where the group have engraved the names of 76 local music heroes that include musicians, bands, venues and promoters, in granite slabs at the site.
They have all made a significant contribution to the Dundee music scene between 1950 and 2000 and include the likes of Billy McKenzie and Michael Marra.
The concert on Sunday 29th May will feature the cream of Dundee Music talent, past and present.
Bands who have offered to help include Abandon, Dave Webster and Friends, Graham Brown band, Havana Swing, East Coast Jazzmen. Several new local musicians have also offered to perform.
Organiser Jake McDonough told Dundee live: “I've been delighted and humbled by the response from the local bands who offered to help. The Dundee Music scene are standing with the people of Ukraine.”
“Despite difficult times here, I'm sure you wouldn't swop places with those suffering in our European neighbours home.”
