'Make it happen please' - Man City fans send Romeo Lavia message to the board after debut

Manchester City sold youngster Romeo Lavia to Southampton earlier this summer and some may have been surprised to see the 18-year-old thrown straight into the starting line-up for his new club's opening game of the season.

The midfielder started for the Saints in their Premier League clash with Tottenham. The Belgian youth international was paired with James Ward-Prowse against Spurs and was lauded for his display with his impressive passing range of passing on display for all to see.

He played 90 minutes for his new club, showing the faith Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has in his new signing. Given the player's status as a former prospect at City, fans will have been watching his progress on the opening weekend and based on the reaction on social media they were impressed.
