Make a 'Fast' deal on EVs and hybrids at trade show

The Fast Auto Show Thailand is back with both new and used cars on sale from Wednesday to Sunday at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (Bitec).

Organiser Pattanadesh Asasappakij said this year the show will be moved from outside halls to the main hall at Bitec due to requests from participating exhibitors.

"This year we will combine new cars, used cars and accessories in the same area [Halls EH102-104] covering a total area of 15,000m²," he said.

Pattanadesh said in addition to automobiles, high-end lifestyle products such as Dyson, Garmin and Recaro will also be present with special promotions.

Giveaway promotions include coupons from B-Quik and PTT Privilege Cards worth up to 100,000 baht. Customers who spend 100,000 baht at the event will receive a lucky draw coupon, with Krungsri Auto customers getting double the number of coupons.

Pattanadesh added: "Visitors to the show this year can relax as the government has unlocked various restrictions and launched economic stimulus measures, allowing the economy to recover. Although the car market has not seen sales growth, after the government lowered the import duty on electric vehicles, retail pricing of many electric car models has been reduced. As a result, the electric car market has become highly active this year."

Pattanadesh said that with all factors considered, the auto show's sales target of 2,600 units (1,800 new cars and 800 used cars) should be achieved.

"We have new vehicles with various powertrain choices, including alternative energy for those who want to distance themselves from the current high fuel prices. They include hybrid and plug-in hybrid as well as 100% electric vehicles. For those who don't want to engage in long waiting periods for new cars, there are many high-quality used cars to pick up at the show. They come with attractive pricing and most importantly come with a buy-back guarantee just like in previous years," he said.

Nine auto companies will be present at the show -- Honda, Isuzu, Mazda, MG, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota and Volvo, in addition to 12 used car dealers.

Panuphand Sapcharatsaeng, service centre engineering manager at PTT Oil and Retail Business (PTTOR), said the company aims to be the leader in EV ecosystems.

PTTOR's booth will highlight products and services of the company that caters to EV users, offering them the confidence in the technologies and services for their vehicles.

"Presently PTTOR is offering services through EV Station PluZ both in and outside of PTT stations, with plans to reach 450 venues within this year. We have also developed the EV Station PluZ app to locate charging stations, make reservations, make payments and check past records. We are also upgrading Fit Auto outlets to have EV repair capability," he said.

In addition, PTTOR plans to get into other EV-related businesses such as Ultra EV home chargers and joining hands with car and motorcycle brands in developing a transport fleet EV rental business as well.

Pornthep Thirasuntrakul, deputy loan marketing manager for the Bank of Ayudhya, said the bank is taking part in the auto show for the sixth time.

"The Fast Auto Show Thailand 2022 is another event that draws in car buyers and helps stimulate car sales during the mid-year period, thanks to a large variety of vehicle types with high quality as well as spot-on promotions," he said.

This year, Krungsri Auto is offering an 84-month instalment plan with 15-minute processing time and no guarantor required. Free gifts are also offered for car buyers applying for used car loans at the show, while Krungsri New Car loans start at 5% interest with an 84-month instalment.

Krungsri customers who place orders or purchase new cars and used cars will get a chance to win fuel cards from the organiser (two chances for every 100,000 baht spent).
