Major West Bridgford road to be closed all Saturday morning for Ukraine march

The length of a major road in Nottinghamshire is to be closed for a solidarity march for Ukraine. Central Avenue in West Bridgford will be shut to traffic from 9.30am to 1pm on Saturday, April 30, to allow for the Ukraine Support Parade.

Gordon Road will also be closed from its junction with Abbey Circus to its junction with Rectory Road from 10.30am to 11.30am. Announcing the closure in its travel bulletin, Nottinghamshire County Council said it meant drivers would be "temporarily prohibited".

The parade will start at the Test Match Pub on Gordon Road at 10.30am and will travel around half a mile on a route through Central Avenue.

The march will conclude at Lutterell Hall where march co-ordinator and Operations Manager Sofia Lesiuk will address attendees together with members of the Ukrainian Association, Rushcliffe Borough Council Leader Cllr Simon Robinson and other local dignitaries.
