Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is arguably having one of his best seasons yet, and his performances this year could result in him getting a much bigger paycheck in the future.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Prescott and the Cowboys are expected to figure out a “rich” contract extension this offseason. The quarterback’s current contract expires in 2024.
Prescott currently is expected to carry a $60 million cap charge in 2024, along with no trade and no tag clauses.
“It does seem like he’s going to get a lot richer,” Rapoport said on Sunday’s NFL GameDay. “Dak Prescott playing his way into a new deal.”

Through 12 games, Prescott has thrown for 3,234 yards, 26 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has a 70.1% completion percentage, along with a 75.5 quarterback rating.
After last Thursday’s game, the Cowboys hold a 9–3 record, which places them in the fifth seed in the NFC playoff picture. Prescott's taken the Cowboys to the playoffs four times, but the team hasn’t passed the divisional round since Dallas won the Super Bowl in the 1995 season.
