A Scots teenager who had been missing for two nights has been found after a major multi-agency search. Kyle Scott, 13, disappeared from Dunragit, Dumfries-shire, at around 10pm on Tuesday, September 14.
Police have now confirmed the missing schoolboy has been traced safe and well.
A major search operation was underway to try and locate the missing teen, with officers from Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Mountain Rescue and Coastguard teams scouring the area.
Searches remained ongoing through last night, as rescuers used head torches to check a wooded area near Ringdoo Point, on the shores of Luce Bay. Kyle's disappearance was described as out of character and police were increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Inspector Gordon McKeand said : “We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Kyle, this is an extremely worrying time and out of character for him. We think Kyle could be wearing a light coloured hooded top and jogging bottoms.
“Officers are carrying out extensive searches in an effort to trace him but there have been no confirmed sightings of him. I would urge anyone who has any information on Kyle’s whereabouts or who has had contact with him to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting 3892 of 14 September, 2022.”
