Major retailer reveals shock closure of its Glasgow city centre store

A MAJOR retailer is set to close down its Glasgow city centre store.

Blacks, which specialises in outdoor clothing, footwear, and equipment, is shutting its shop on Argyle Street.

Revealing the news, a sign on the store's window reads: "Closing down. All stock must go. 30% off absolutely everything."

(Image: Newsquest) The beloved retailer, which was created in 1861 and is part of the JD Group, is known for selling popular brands including Rab, The North Face, Berghaus, and Peter Storm.

It is unknown when the store will close its doors for good.
