A RESCUE operation has been launched as a car has “gone into a loch” following a crash in Perthshire.
Emergency services are in attendance on the A826 near Aberfeldy after they received a call at around 5:30pm of a car that got into difficulty.
Fire units have been mobilised from the surrounding towns of Pitlochry and Dunkeld, while water rescue boats are heading out from Perth and Dundee, according to the Courier.
It is also reported that the car ended up in Loch na Creige after a crash, which is around four miles south of Aberfeldy.
Multiple emergency services vehicles have been seen making their way to the incident, including an air ambulance.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.27pm about a vehicle that had got into difficulty on the A826 near Aberfeldy.
“Appliances have arrived at the scene.
“We understand a vehicle has gone into a loch following a crash.
“We have nothing further at this stage.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for a comment.
