Two major power cuts were reported in Newcastle city centre this morning, leaving 180 premises without power.
One power cut affected Eldon Square and is said to have been caused by an 'unexpected problem with the cables or equipment serving that area.' The second power cut is in the southwest of the city centre and affecting areas around Newcastle College and Lane 7 Bowling Alley.
Power has now been restored to the majority of premises in both areas.
