Major police presence as officers tape off busy Greater Manchester street after 'fight'

Police have descended on a busy Greater Manchester road following reports of a 'fight'. Officers are in attendance on Deane Road, in Bolton, near to the cafes and shops between Cannon Street and College Way.

Multiple eyewitnesses have told the Manchester Evening News a 'fight' broke out in the area earlier today (January 20). The incident is believed to have taken place at around 4.30pm.

Officers have been in attendance throughout this evening. One eyewitness said: "It was a fist fight.

"I don't exactly know what happened. I just decided to call the police and help the guy out."

Images from the scene show a section of the pavement taped off outside a number of businesses along Deane Road. A number of police vehicles are parked up at the scene, with officers searching the area.

Further details about the incident are yet to be confirmed. Greater Manchester Police has been approached for comment.
