Tickets are now on sale for a major fundraiser for the charity founded in memory of Stirling teenager Eilidh Brown
Parents Gordon and Nicole Brown will be hosting the Diamond Ball at Airth Castle Hotel on October 22 to raise funds for the Eilidh Brown Memorial Fund.
Earlier this year the couple thanked the people of Stirling for helping them create their daughter’s legacy - a respite and holiday home for children and young people with cancer near Thornhill, which was officially opened by Scottish rockers The Fratellis.
After Eilidh passed away from a rare form of cancer 12 years ago, just days before her 16th birthday, Gordon and Nicole appealed to the people of Stirling to get behind their bid to create the house.
Locals responded by raising more than £600,000 through everything from marathons to bake sales.
However, ongoing fundraising is vital for the maintenance and upkeep of the house.
While previous estimates have suggested that around £50-60,000 a year would have to be raised annually, that figure could rise given the current cost of living crisis and energy costs.
The Diamond Ball will be one of the biggest events in the charity’s calendar.

Gordon said: “We’re delighted to launch the Diamond Ball for 2022.
“It’s been a long time since we held our last ball. It was planned for 2020 but had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
“We can’t wait to welcome you all this year. We’ve booked the venue, the stunning Airth Castle Hotel and Spa resort for Saturday, October 22.”
“We’re looking forward to the chance to get all dressed up and have some fun,” said Nicole. “We’ll dance the night away after a fabulous meal from the talented chefs at Airth Castle Hotel and Spa.
“We’re currently putting the final touches to the ball so please keep checking back for updates. Tickets are on sale now at £65 for an individual ticket or better still get all your friends together and book a table of ten for £600.
“We’re also going to have fabulous raffle prizes and hope to raise lots of money on the night.”
