A city centre restaurant is set to expand with the addition of new dining and bar areas. The owner of Fafafels in Long Row, Nottingham city centre, wants to convert the upper floors of its building to provide more restaurant space, a Shisha bar and a smoking area.
The ground floor is currently used as a restaurant and deli. Plans have been submitted to Nottingham City Council for a first floor restaurant area that would have a new balcony facing Angel Row.
Above this, on the second and third floors of the building, there would be two smoking areas. New windows, which are larger than those currently in place, would also be fitted on these upper floors.

There would be seating in both of the smoking area levels. A partially open roof on the top floor is also proposed.
The Middle Eastern restaurant and cafe opened in 2021, replacing a Subway that closed down in 2020. The restaurant serves mezze, Middle Eastern salad, and falafel as part of a mainly vegetarian and vegan menu.
The application is currently pending consideration by Nottingham City Council.
